Safety is a fundamental priority in our operations. To maintain the highest standards of health and safety performance, we are seeking a Health & Safety Supervisor who will play an important role in strengthening our Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.
This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about safety leadership, risk management, and ensuring safe operations in complex industrial environments.
As a Health & Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s health and safety management systems while ensuring that operations are conducted safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Developing, implementing, and continuously improving the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Management System, procedures, and guidelines
Ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and internal OHS management system requirements
Monitoring changes in safety legislation and recommending updates to maintain regulatory compliance
Providing safety supervision and professional advice for daily operations, plant outages, and project activities including plant modifications
Supporting the implementation of risk management systems and safe work practices across operations
Assisting the HSE Manager in implementing effective HSE compliance and risk management programs
Reviewing Contractors’ Safety Management Systems to ensure alignment with company and regulatory requirements
Monitoring contractor safety performance and compliance during operational and project activities
Leading HSE training programs, coaching sessions, and safety awareness campaigns for employees and contractors
Promoting a strong safety culture and supporting supervisors and line management in fulfilling safety responsibilities
Facilitating internal and external HSE audits and ensuring the effectiveness of safety management systems
Ensuring audit findings, corrective actions, and recommendations are followed up and closed in a timely manner
Leading incident investigations and conducting root cause analysis to identify corrective and preventive actions
Supervising inspection, maintenance, and calibration of safety equipment, emergency response equipment, fire protection systems, and safety monitoring devices
Ensuring readiness and availability of safety and emergency response equipment across the power plant
Coordinating with internal departments, contractors, and relevant stakeholders on safety matters
Supporting other health & safety initiatives and assignments as required by management
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related disciplines
Minimum 6 years of experience managing health and safety aspects in power plant, oil & gas, or petrochemical industries
Experience in a supervisory or coordination role will be an advantage
Strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles, systems, and regulatory requirements
Proven experience in developing, implementing, and auditing Safety Management Systems
Good knowledge of international HSE standards such as ISO 45001
Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
Understanding of risk management systems and safe work practices in industrial operations
Knowledge of HSE aspects within gas power plant operations is an advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple safety priorities and work independently
Good communication and coordination skills when working with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
Demonstrates leadership, accountability, and strong health & safety awareness
