About our client
Our client is a global asset management firm specialized in public markets and alternative investments.
They manage diversified portfolios including corporate debt, public equities, public credit, broadly syndicated loans, bonds, equities, options, swaps, and distressed securities.
The firm operates fully remotely across the U.S., Canada, India, and the Philippines, and is now expanding fund accounting operations into LATAM.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily and monthly cash, position, and P&L reconciliations, resolving breaks promptly and maintaining accurate portfolio attributes in coordination with fund administrators, custodians, banks, prime brokers, and internal Operations.
Support the month-end close, including booking accruals, fees, interest, corporate actions, paydowns, restructurings; preparing and posting journal entries; assisting with NAV calculations; and ensuring accurate monthly fund financials.
Manage capital activity such as subscriptions, redemptions, and distributions, while monitoring fund cash positions and handling invoice validation, coding, and timely payment processing according to fund agreements.
Prepare, validate, and review investor statements and take part in weekly, monthly, and quarterly investor reporting deliverables.
Coordinate with administrators, custodians, auditors, and tax service providers to resolve discrepancies and support annual audits and tax cycles (including K-1 packages).
Maintain clean and accurate data across internal systems and external platforms, improving workflows through advanced Excel, macros, and AI-enabled tools, and ensuring timely completion of tasks under pressure with high accuracy.
Collaborate effectively within a global remote team, communicating proactively, raising issues early, and taking ownership of assigned processes.
Qualifications (must-have)
5–7+ years of accounting experience, including 1-2 years in fund accounting.
Strong understanding of capital markets (equities, bonds, loans, corporate actions).
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas, macros).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Strong analytical and linear reasoning.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Professional English.
Nice to have
Experience in hedge funds, alternatives, or investment management.
Background in Big Four firms (EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, Grant Thornton).
Familiarity with Enfusion (C1), Clearwater Analytics, or Bloomberg.
CFA or CPA candidate.
