Job Description

About the role We are looking for an experienced Environmental and Social Specialist to play a key role in strengthening the implementation and continuous improvement of our Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) across our projects. This role supports the integration of environmental and social (E&S) standards and practices into project operations, ensuring alignment with international frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards, Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), and Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standards (CCB). Reporting to the ESMS Senior Manager, the E&S Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and project site teams to improve systems, processes, and data management related to E&S performance. The role also contributes to building internal capacity and supporting consistent implementation of E&S practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

ESMS Coordination and Implementation Implement a clear and consistent approach to assessing E&S risks and opportunities associated with new projects. Undertake internal capacity and competency building to support effective ESMS implementation across projects through communication of E&S requirements, E&S responsibilities, co-development of E&S management plans and Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) monitoring adherence. Support the development and implementation of mitigation plans that manage and avoid E&S risks.

E&S Monitoring, Compliance, and Reporting Implement a standard process to monitor compliance with the ESMS across all sites. Monitor on-the-ground implementation of ESMS across all projects through direct engagement with team members and support the implementation of programs that promote continuous improvement. Support implementation of field data collection for ESMS compliance as input for company management dashboards. Support the fulfillment of all E&S reporting requirements for investors and external auditors, including contributions to annual VCS/CCB and impact reporting cycles.

E&S Data Management & Continuous Improvement (CI) Design and implement a rigorous and repeatable process to regularly monitor and collect MR field data, including KPIs, to drive continual improvement of management reporting dashboards. Institute reliable data collection processes across sites to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of E&S information. Capture, share, and implement best practices across sites and across departments.

Requirements - Technical Skill Advanced academic background in Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Natural Resource Management, or related fields 8–10 years of experience in the application of ESG, CI, E&S management, or social performance in land-based sectors (e.g., forestry, agriculture, natural resources, extractive industries). Experience applying processes and frameworks that ensure international and company standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, RSPO, VCS, CCB, or similar) are adhered to. Experience implementing E&S risk assessments, management plans, and SOPs. Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and DMAIC utilization are nice to have. Field-based project experience in remote areas in Indonesia. Monitoring, reporting, and data management for project performance.
