The

Senior Business Analyst

acts as the interface between the business units and the development team.

The analyst is responsible for gathering and structuring requirements, creating user stories, and supporting backlog prioritization.

By working closely with stakeholders, the analyst identifies challenges early and actively contributes to their resolution.

The goal is to create a shared understanding of the ServiceNow functionalities to be developed or further developed – taking into account strategic objectives, technical standards and operational requirements.

The Senior Business Analyst accompanies the entire requirements engineering lifecycle and significantly contributes to the design and quality assurance of the solution.

Responsibilities

Act as interface between the business units and the development team, gather and structure requirements, create user stories, and support backlog prioritization.

Coordinate closely with the Product Owner to ensure a shared understanding of ServiceNow functionalities and participate in the full requirements engineering lifecycle.

Contribute to the design and quality assurance of solutions, leading the management of requirements and documentation.

Lead the content qualification of defects in close collaboration with SMEs, developers and testers.

Interface on technical implementation and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with technical and methodological standards (PMI, PM2, IREB, BABOK, ITIL, SAFe).

Perform cross‑team analysis tasks and manage entire topic areas; support project coordination, communication and organizational change management.

Requirements

Rapid familiarisation with complex technical and/or professional expertise and targeted development of task‑specific specialist knowledge.

Participation in prioritising and planning implementation and creating product backlogs.

Adherence to and suggestions for technical standards according to a predefined Technical Governance framework.

Quality assurance and management of requirements and documentation.

Leading the content qualification of defects in close collaboration with SMEs, developers and testers.

Interface to technical implementation and quality assurance.

Ensuring compliance with technical and methodological standards (e.g., PMI, PM2, IREB, BABOK, Technical Governance, ITIL, SAFe).

Cross‑team analysis tasks and management of the entire topic areas (topic leadership), generally taking on various cross‑functional tasks.

Proactive support in project coordination and communication.

Supporting the development and expansion of the knowledge base.

Supporting knowledge transfer, user enablement and organisational change management.

Required Skills

Several years of experience in the role of Business Analyst, ideally with ServiceNow experience.

Ideally holds relevant certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD, CIS, CTA, CWA, IREB, BA, PM).

Strong analytical, facilitation and presentation skills, as well as excellent communication and organisational abilities.

Knowledge of and practical experience with agile software development processes and working in agile software implementation teams.

Ability to clearly explain and communicate complex technical concepts.

Experience in organisational change management.

Mandatory Requirements

Completed technical or business‑oriented education at university/university of applied sciences level (Diploma or Master’s degree), or 10 years of relevant professional experience in the IT field.

At least 5 years of verifiable professional experience in software development projects in the ServiceNow environment within the last 8 years.

At least 3 years of practical experience working in an agile implementation team within the last 5 years.

Very good practical experience with cross‑role tools and infrastructure (Jira, Confluence, MS Office, Miro).

Demonstrated practical experience in requirements management in a leadership role (e.g., subject matter expert, lead analyst, etc.) and in coordinating multiple analyses and managing large‑scale requirements definition projects.

Fluent German skills, both written and spoken (C1 level and above), and very good English skills (B2 level and above).
