Job Description
The role of a Furniture Category Manager Indoor & Outdoor Furniture involves overseeing and managing a specific category of furniture products within a company. This position requires a combination of strategic thinking, product knowledge, and market understanding.
What You Will Do
Category Strategy Development
Develop a comprehensive strategy for the furniture category, aligned with overall business objectives.
Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscape within the furniture category.
Assortment Planning
Work closely with suppliers and product development teams to curate a diverse and appealing assortment of furniture products.
Ensure that the assortment meets customer needs and aligns with the brand image.
Product Lifecycle Management
Manage the entire lifecycle of furniture products, from introduction to retirement.
Monitor sales performance and recommend adjustments to the assortment based on market demand.
Market Research and Analysis
Develop and implement pricing strategies for the furniture category.
Plan and execute promotions and discounts to drive sales and achieve revenue targets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other departments to align category strategies with overall business goals.
Work with the marketing team to create effective promotional materials and campaigns.
Inventory Management
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
Implement inventory control measures to maximize efficiency.
Quality Control and Compliance
Ensure that furniture products meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations.
Work with suppliers to address quality issues and implement improvements.
Customer Feedback and Satisfaction
Gather customer feedback and insights to understand their preferences and satisfaction with the furniture category.
Use customer data to make data-driven decisions on product offerings and improvements.
Sales Analysis and Reporting
Track and analyze sales performance for the furniture category.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
New Product Development
Identify opportunities for new product development within the furniture category.
Work with product development teams to bring innovative and market-relevant products to market.
What You Will Need
Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field. A Masterโs degree may be preferred.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in retail, furniture, or home goods industries.
Background in category management, product management, or merchandising.
Strong analytical skills to interpret data and market trends.
Creative thinking and the ability to curate an appealing assortment of furniture products.
Knowledge of furniture industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Customer-centric mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and preferences.
