A career within the Corporate Tax team with specialization in the Pillar-Two expertise will give you the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. In this role, you will play a critical part in assisting multinational clients in understanding, planning, and complying with the new global minimum tax rules under the OECD Pillar Two initiative. You will focus on helping businesses navigate the complexities surrounding the Pillar-Two rules, ensuring the client’s internal reporting system’s readiness for the Pillar-Two tax compliance, and advising the impact of the Pillar-Two implementation to the client’s business in order to optimise their investment returns.

About the Job The Pillar-Two framework is a whole new set of complex tax rules which is often heavily linked with a requirement to possess strong understanding of accounting concepts. As a Senior Associate specializing in this area, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping clients navigate the complex rules from preparation to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

Develop new skills outside of your comfort zone.

Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.

Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.

Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making.

Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients.

Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarising key points.

Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.

Review client’s accounting system and internal control system which include identifying initiatives to improve the finance function operation up to the implementation process.

Liaise with the internal and external auditor in the audit field work.

Expected Roles Pre Engagement

Preparing risk management procedures, i.e. new client questionnaire, independence checking, assignment acceptance, relationship check, engagement letter. (This preparation can be delegated to associate where the Senior Associate is required to review and ensure the minimum quality standards are met).

Participating in the discussion with the team about the big picture of the project.

Helping manager in scoping, both scope of work and scope of exclusion.

Estimating fee for doing the project, e.g. fee for each team members, etc.

Organising timeline.

Managing workload between senior associate’s workload and associate/ junior team member’s workload.

Preparing/reviewing data request.

Reviewing associate/ junior team member’s work.

Reporting to the manager in order to be reviewed by the manager.

Engagement

Participating in meeting with client and prepare the relevant minutes of meeting (MOM).

Briefing associate / junior team member about the tasks that shall be delegated.

Mentoring and monitoring associate / junior team member in doing the tasks.

Monitoring provision of data from client.

Monitoring timeline and work progress.

Research regulation and other support data.

Reviewing work done by the associate b/ junior team member, e.g. calculation, wording, regulation, etc.

Preparation/review of the deliverables (e.g. report/memo, calculation working paper, draft tax returns, etc.)

Reporting to the manager/senior manager/director.

Discussing with the superior about the issues.

Submitting tax return to the tax office (for compliance only).

Post Engagement

Preparing billing description, i.e. compiling timesheet, counting recovery in percentage, and making invoice.

Organising documents that will be filed.

Delegating filing task to associate.

Monitoring filing and cross-referencing.

Requirements

Recognized University/Bachelor Degree from Accounting/Economic/Business Administration/Finance Management with GPA minimum 3.30 out of 4.00 and/or professional accounting qualification.

Strong tax, business and accounting technical knowledge with at least 3-5 years of experience.

Familiar with Indonesian tax legislations and systems.

Proficient English skills.

Having knowledge and exposure related to accounting treatments, tax structuring, and tax reporting.

Experience in working in teams; respecting and valuing all people and encouraging different perspectives.

An ability to take advantage of new opportunities for learning, sharing new knowledge; being intellectually agile and able to think creatively.

Any exposure/experience/knowledge on OECD Pillar Two will definitely be an upside.
