Job Description
The Director (General) is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and organizational direction to ensure the achievement of the company’s vision, mission, and long-term objectives. The role involves overseeing daily operations, driving growth initiatives, ensuring financial sustainability, and fostering a high-performance culture across departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement short- and long-term organizational strategies.
Align departmental goals with overall business objectives.
Identify growth opportunities, partnerships, and new business initiatives.
Advise the Board of Directors and stakeholders on strategic direction.
2. Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments.
Ensure efficient resource allocation and cost management.
Establish policies, systems, and processes to improve operational effectiveness.
Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
3. Financial Oversight
Develop and manage annual budgets.
Monitor financial performance, profitability, and cash flow.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
Approve major expenditures and investments.
4. Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop senior management and departmental heads.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
Oversee recruitment, performance management, and succession planning.
Promote employee engagement and organizational values.
5. Governance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
Maintain strong relationships with regulators, partners, and stakeholders.
Represent the organization in public, industry, and government forums.
6. Risk Management
Identify organizational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure business continuity planning and crisis management preparedness.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field (MBA or relevant postgraduate degree preferred).
Minimum 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proven track record in strategic planning and operational leadership.
Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
