System Engineer Fully Remote EU - Working US Hours 6 Month Contract + Potential Extensions

Role Overview: We are seeking a

proactive and versatile System Engineer

to join a fast-paced production support team. This role focuses on

incident management, system monitoring, and platform stability

rather than deep specialization in DevOps or Cloud.

Key Responsibilities: Incident Management Monitor and respond to platform alerts based on priority and SLAs Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues across multiple environments Collect and analyze logs from monitoring tools Perform root cause analysis and ensure timely resolution Document issues, debugging steps, and solutions in ticketing systems Documentation & Process Maintain and update knowledge base articles in Confluence Create clear technical procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Cross-Team Collaboration Work closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams Define escalation paths and ownership for incidents Translate complex technical issues into clear reports and actionable insights Technical Development & Automation Write scripts for automation, monitoring, and testing (Python, Shell, Java) Support internal tools and platform enhancements Contribute to small-scale feature development and system improvements

Technical Skills & Requirements: 2–5 years of experience in a technical role, preferably as a developer or system engineer Experience with

ticketing systems

(ServiceNow, JIRA) and monitoring tools (New Relic) Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Java, Shell) System administration and troubleshooting expertise (Ubuntu/Linux environments) Familiarity with

infrastructure and orchestration tools : Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform Comfortable working across multiple technical domains Proactive mindset and ability to work under SLA expectations Strong communication skills; experience with Slack, Teams Knowledge of system security and performance best practices
