Position Overview
We’re assisting a leading packaging company that designs and manufactures sustainable packaging solutions. The Sales Manager will lead commercial efforts in assigned territories or market segments, build and manage customer relationships, and drive revenue growth. This role requires a strategic seller who understands packaging products and manufacturing processes, can develop account plans, and collaborates with technical, operations, and supply chain teams to deliver customer value.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve regional and segment revenue, margin, and market-share targets
Prospect, qualify, and close new business with brand owners, converters, distributors, and retail/manufacturing customers
Manage and grow existing accounts through regular contact, technical problem-solving, and value-based selling
Prepare proposals, quotations, and commercial terms in coordination with pricing and commercial teams
Work closely with R&D and product teams to communicate customer needs and support product development or customization requests
Coordinate with operations and supply chain to ensure feasibility, lead-time management, and on-time delivery
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline, and CRM records; report on sales performance and opportunity status
Participate in contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with company commercial policies and risk guidelines
Develop account plans, territory plans, and pricing strategies to maximize long-term customer lifetime value
Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows to build brand presence and generate leads
Coach and mentor junior sales staff or cross-functional colleagues where applicable to improve sales effectiveness
Identify process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across sales and customer service
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Packaging Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience in the packaging, materials, or manufacturing sectors, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
Proven experience selling technical or engineered products and working with cross-functional teams (R&D, operations, supply chain)
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Comfortable using CRM systems and sales reporting tools; strong proficiency with Excel
Commercially minded with experience in pricing, margin management, and contract terms
Ability to travel to customer sites and industry events as required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of sustainable packaging trends and regulatory requirements is advantageous
