Job Description
KREASI PROVINCIAL COORDINATOR: TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
ROLE PURPOSE:
KREASI (Kolaborasi untuk Edukasi Anak Indonesia) is designed to accelerate literacy, numeracy, and character development for preschool and primary students in eight districts across four provinces. One pillar of the project is to train and support the professional development primary school teachers Grades 1-3 in competencies in foundational literacy, numeracy, differentiated learning and character education in the classroom, and remediation for struggling learners via “Catch-up Clubs.” Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and Climate Change Resilience are integrated throughout.
The KREASI program currently has two main training modules targeting primary school teachers:
Teacher Professional Development (TPD)
Catch-up Clubs
The TPD Coordinator is based at the provincial level and will utilizes KREASI national technical guidelines to provide technical and operational support to local implementing partners in two districts located in a single province, per the following:

The Provincial Teacher Professional Development (TPD) Coordinator is responsible for supporting the rollout of KREASI’s teacher professional development approach at the provincial level. This includes facilitating high-quality implementation of training, coaching and mentoring, and communities of practice/peer learning for teachers and school leaders.
Key responsibilities include working closely with implementing partners and district education offices to ensure that nationally-developed teacher training packages are delivered effectively and consistently. The role focuses on strengthening partner capacity, assuring quality of delivery, coordinating stakeholders, and leading monitoring, learning, and reporting of TPD activities across the province. The Coordinator ensures compliance with KREASI and Save the Children policies and, as part of the provincial team, contributes to reporting on project outcomes to regional management.
What will you do:
Partner Support and Capacity Strengthening
Support implementing partners to plan and deliver Teacher Professional Development activities, including Catch-up Club training, using approved national training packages and guidance.
Co-facilitate training of District Trainers who will roll out training of teachers and Catch-up Club facilitators.
Provide ongoing technical support to partners and, as needed, District Trainers to ensure quality and fidelity of rollout.
Support partner systems for planning, logistics, facilitation, follow-up coaching of teachers, and teacher community of practice.
Conduct periodic quality assurance visits to trainings, coaching sessions, and communities of practice.
Identify capacity gaps among partners and district trainers, to inform targeted support plans in coordination with KREASI national Advisors.
Promote effective adult learning and facilitation practices aligned with KREASI pedagogical approaches.
Coordination and Communication
In close coordination with local partners, coordinate with Provincial and District Education Offices to align TPD/CuC rollout with local priorities and schedules.
Support joint planning of training calendars and coaching cycles with district stakeholders.
Facilitate regular coordination meetings with partners, district trainers, and education officials.
Ensure clear and timely communication between national KREASI team, provincial partners, and districts.
Contribute to problem-solving and rapid response when implementation bottlenecks arise.
Represent KREASI in relevant provincial technical forums related to teacher development.
Monitoring, Learning, and Adaptation
Lead routine monitoring of TPD/CuC implementation across the province.
Track participation, coverage, quality, and follow-up of training, coaching, and peer learning activities.
Support partners to use monitoring data for reflection and continuous improvement.
Support partners and teachers to document lessons, good practices, and challenges.
Facilitate periodic review and learning sessions with partners and district trainers.
Recommend adaptive actions to improve effectiveness and reach of TPD/CuC activities.
Reporting and Documentation
Validate district provincial data on TPD/CuC outputs and outcomes.
Support the preparation of narrative and quantitative progress reports.
Ensure organized documentation of trainings, coaching visits, tools, and materials.
Contribute case studies and success stories demonstrating impact and learning.
Ensure timely submission of reports in line with program and donor requirements.
Compliance and Safeguarding
Ensure all activities adhere to KREASI operational guidelines, financial and administrative procedures.
Promote and uphold safeguarding and child protection standards in all trainings and field activities.
Ensure partners and trainers understand and apply safeguarding, inclusion, and non-discrimination principles.
Report any safeguarding or compliance concerns through established mechanisms.
Support safe, inclusive, and accessible participation of teachers, including those with disabilities.
Brand and Reputation:
Contribute to implementing partners being aware and actively involved in building and maintaining the Save the Children and KREASI brand in all project field sites and with all project external stakeholders, including program strategic partners
General
Any other tasks and responsibilities are assigned by the Supervisor and must be complied with in accordance with Save the Children and Save the Children Indonesia's policies and practices regarding child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies and procedures.
What we need from you:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably within an NGO or development context.
Strong facilitation and adult learning skills.
Experience working with district or provincial education authorities.
Proven ability in monitoring, data use, and report writing.
Strong coordination and partnership management skills.
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and equitable education.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with the local context and challenges within the province and districts.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Willingness to travel within the province and districts as required.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Fluency in written and spoken Indonesian, strong English written and spoken skills.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
Demonstrated ability to write high-quality reports and other project documents in Indonesian and English
Preferred: experience delivering and/or supervising teacher training and coaching.
