Job Summary
The
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Accountant
supports budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis for shipyard projects. This role tracks project and operational costs, prepares simple financial reports, and analyzes differences between budget and actual results. The FP&A Accountant works with project and operations teams to help control costs and support management decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse trends of key performance indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics such as revenue, expenses, and profit margin.
Monitor KPIs and identify the cause of any unexpected variances.
Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts.
Present monthly financial reports for various business segments and departments.
Support the management team and department leaders with data‑driven analysis.
Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives.
Implement a business intelligence tool and dashboard reports.
Review finance peer's work for completeness and compliance with accounting standard.
Assist annual statutory audit, inventory count & liaison with external auditors on all audit matters.
Assist in tax audit, CITR review, document collection for audit, etc.
Assist in review of the finance standard operating procedure, internal accounting policy and internal control processes.
Ad‑hoc business performance reporting.
Key Requirements
5+ years of experience and general knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles.
Proficient in English both written and spoken.
Strong Excel skills + SAP skills.
Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels.
High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance.
Comfortable navigating through grey areas without clear solutions.
Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
Detail‑oriented with the ability to multi‑task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Self‑starter with good time management skills when urgent deadlines need to be met.
