Senior Manager (Port Operations)

Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading Indonesian provider of integrated one-stop sea logistics and transportation solutions for bulk materials, particularly coal. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a professional with at least 20 years' experience in port management for the job of Senior Manager Port Operations. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Key job responsibilities include:

Report directly to GM Port Operations

Manage daily harbour activities, cargo loading/unloading, terminal operations, and equipment maintenance.

Ensure adherence to international maritime laws, port security, and emergency response plans.

Liaise with shipping lines, customs officials, logistics agents, and government authorities.

Oversee budgets, control operational costs, and analyse performance metrics to improve financial returns.

Develop long-term strategies for port growth, infrastructure modernization, and efficiency improvements.

Hire, train, and supervise personnel, fostering a safe and productive work environment.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, logistics, supply chain management, or related fields.

Minimum 20+ years in port operations, terminal management, or international shipping.

Strong understanding of maritime laws, customs, and shipping documentation.

Leadership, crisis management, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency in logistical software.

Excellent project management skills - with ability to identify critical path issues and develop solutions to keep a program on track
