OceanX is seeking an APAC Science Partnerships Associate to support the organization’s work across Science, Education, Partnerships, and Missions by coordinating and facilitating partnerships, research, and regional programs throughout the Asia Pacific. This role focuses on enabling strategic engagement with government agencies, universities, and NGOs, supporting program implementation, and ensuring alignment with OceanX’s broader regional and mission objectives. Location

This is a remote position open to professionals legally authorized to work in Indonesia. Duties and Responsibilities

Support engagement with government ministries, regional research agencies, and local NGOs to advance OceanX programs in Southeast Asia. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder dialogues to strengthen partnerships and ensure program alignment. Assist in identifying regional priorities, opportunities, and constraints to inform OceanX’s program strategy. Monitor policy and scientific developments relevant to OceanX’s mission, providing timely insights to internal teams. Collect, compile, and analyze environmental, policy, and scientific data to support program design and evaluation. Prepare reports, briefs, and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders. Support expedition and project planning, including logistics, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and external partners. Track program progress, monitor deliverables, and maintain accurate records of initiatives, partnerships, and commitments. Assist in organizing events, workshops, and knowledge‑sharing forums across multi‑stakeholder groups. Contribute to research on ecosystem services, conservation initiatives, and regional environmental priorities. Willingness for travel, primarily within the region and to the vessel. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings, to support cross‑time‑zone collaboration. Adaptable to varying workloads, balancing periods of focused execution with lighter operational phases. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications

Professional Experience

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, policy, economics, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental research, policy, or program coordination. Demonstrated experience engaging with government agencies, NGOs, and local stakeholders. Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail. Proven ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data to inform decision‑making. Experience supporting multi‑stakeholder or regional environmental programs is highly desirable. Familiarity with ocean, water, or climate‑related programs in Southeast Asia. Experience contributing to multi‑year, multi‑stakeholder environmental or scientific initiatives. Ability to work and thrive in an entrepreneurial, rapidly evolving environment, with significant ambiguity. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications. Proven track record in taking initiative and multi‑tasking, interfacing with various team members while conducting oneself with the utmost professional manner when working with internal and external colleagues.
