Experienced Simulation Consultant

Haskoning is a highly respected 140+ year old engineering consultancy company that designs & builds industrial assets such as factories and logistics centers for many leading organizations. In 2022, we’ve joined forces with Districon, a leading supply chain and logistics consultancy with 45 years’ experience developing strategies and solving complex issues for integrated logistics and supply chain management.

Our joint team forms the Supply Chain & Logistics Centre of Excellence within Haskoning. We provide top-tier logistics & supply chain advisory as well as digital supply chain advanced analytics services on top of Haskoning’s traditional engineering and consultancy domain knowledge.

What will you do The role will focus on simulation of warehouse and factory operations on a project basis. You will work with an impressive range of clients to understand and capture their requirements and then deliver projects with your data-driven approach, industry expertise and our digital tools.

You will use your skills, along with your APAC and International colleagues, for projects such as:

Using simulation modelling to find the optimal automation concepts for large new fulfillment centres for leading B2C e‑commerce companies

Using simulation modelling to de‑risk and optimise the design and operations for a consumer goods factory and warehouse.

Using simulation modelling to check if a beverage company is able to accommodate future growth.

Where you will work Jakarta Office, South Jakarta

What you bring Must-have experience:

An advanced degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, etc.), Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Statistics/Mathematics, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant fields.

Minimum 5+ years relevant experience after graduation.

Extensive discrete event simulation modelling experience. We use our in-house software WITNESS Horizon, but other software experience like FlexSim are relevant.

Simulation experience in supply chain and/or factory optimisation.

Willingness to travel, both for incidental trips to our offices in Southeast Asia and Netherlands, or to Southeast Asian clients.

Nice-to-have experience and skills:

Familiarity and an interest in data analytics software to support our consultancy services. For example PowerBI, Python and SQL.

Demonstrated supply chain & operations consulting experience.

Experience in Warehouse or DC layout development and material flow (re)design including material handling and storage automation solution concept designs.

Project management experience and manage customer stakeholders across all levels of their organisation.

Demonstrated consultative selling and communication skills to contribute to winning projects. We expect you to lead client meetings, attend conferences, and use your professional network to generate opportunities.

Working experience in an international environment.
