Customs & International Trade Compliance Manage
In Lawyers On Demand (LOD) we are hiring an experienced
Customs & International Trade Compliance Manager
to lead compliance activities across the Americas region for one of our clients.

About the Role
You will drive international trade compliance, customs operations, export controls, sanctions, and licensing programs across North and Latin America. This role collaborates closely with supply chain, legal, sales, and procurement teams to support business growth while ensuring adherence to U.S. and regional regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Export Controls & Licensing
Manage EAR/ITAR requirements, ECCN classifications, and license applications (BIS/DSP‑5).
Lead training on export control laws across the U.S. and LATAM.
Sanctions & Restricted Party Screening
Oversee OFAC/SDN screening, sectoral sanctions, and country-specific restrictions.
Develop sanctions compliance policies, including risk-based due diligence for third parties, financial transactions, and humanitarian exemptions.
Review end use and end user documentation to ensure no violations of embargoes or illicit transshipments.
Customs & Import/Export Compliance
Ensure correct HTS/HS classification, valuation, COO determination.
Manage brokers, authorities, audits, and regulatory inquiries across the Americas.
Maintain statutory customs records and validate duty/tax compliance.
Trade Compliance Governance
Support high‑risk third‑party management and compliance with FCPA/ABC laws.
Develop and improve compliance policies, SOPs, internal controls, and training.
Lead initiatives for automation and AI-driven compliance tools.
Required Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in international trade compliance within the Americas.
Strong knowledge of:
U.S.
EAR/ITAR ,
OFAC
sanctions
Customs rules across Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia
HTS/ECCN classification, export controls, licensing, restricted party screening
Experience working with customs brokers and regulatory authorities.
Advanced English proficiency
(near-native).
Spanish fluency
is a plus.
