Role We are seeking a hands-on Technical Team Lead with strong Agile delivery and project management skills to lead a team tasked with transforming a monolithic web application into a modern microservices-based architecture. This is a hybrid role that combines senior full stack engineering with Scrum Master responsibilities — ideal for a leader who can guide modernization efforts while mentoring team members and delivering high-quality code. The team’s mission is to evolve a legacy platform into a scalable, cloud-ready enterprise SaaS application for the higher education sector. You will play a central role in breaking down complex, tightly coupled systems and enabling a modular, maintainable future.

Duties and Responsibilities: Champion Agile methodologies and lead Scrum ceremonies, ensuring iterative and high-quality delivery. Track and communicate team velocity, cycle time, and blockers to stakeholders. Coordinate dependencies across teams, manage delivery risks, and ensure timely Build for quality through code reviews, support of continuous integration and test automation, and enforcement of engineering standards Collaborate with other tech leads, architects, and engineering leaders to align strategy and implementation. Contribute high-quality code as a senior full stack developer Design scalable services, reusable UI components, and integrations with external platforms. Work with DevOps and infrastructure teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments Lead incident response and troubleshooting for complex issues across legacy and modern systems.

Education and Experience: B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems or related Engineering or equivalent experience 8+ years of professional software development experience, with full stack expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, JPA/Hibernate and React or other JavaScript frameworks. 2+ years leading Agile development teams, including Scrum Master responsibilities. Experience transforming or refactoring legacy or monolithic systems into modern service-oriented architectures. Solid understanding of Agile practices, DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and delivery metrics. Proficiency in cloud environments (preferably AWS) and relational databases Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills — able to drive clarity in cross-functional settings.
