Purchasing Officer & Logistic Supervisor (Marine/Shipping Industry)
We are looking for a
Purchasing Officer & Logistic Supervisor
with a background in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related maritime fields, and at least 2 years of experience in procurement or logistics within the marine, offshore, or shipping industry.
The ideal candidate is capable of managing end-to-end purchasing processes while also supervising logistics operations to support vessel activities. This role requires strong technical understanding, coordination skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced maritime environment.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or logistics, preferably in the marine/offshore/shipping industry.
Strong understanding of vessel services (docking, overhaul, inspection, cleaning, calibration, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and vessel requirements.
Proficient in end-to-end purchasing processes: request handling, price analysis, PO issuance, GR, invoice process.
Preferably experienced with the Odoo system.
Strong leadership and coordination skills, especially with logistics teams.
Understanding of maritime supply chain operations and vessel operational planning.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with vendors and technical personnel.
Able to multitask, detail-oriented, responsible, and responsive in urgent situations (emergency repairs/breakdowns).
Strong time management and accuracy in managing documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing Responsibilities
Manage the full procurement cycle for vessel-related services, including docking, repair, maintenance, certification, inspection, and equipment servicing.
Review and verify service requests from vessels or technical superintendents.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors; conduct quotation comparisons.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor service progress and completion.
Ensure vendor compliance with SLAs and company standards.
Maintain accurate procurement records and reports.
Conduct vendor evaluations with QA and Technical teams.
Logistics Responsibilities
Supervise logistics and distribution activities for vessel operations.
Develop and implement logistics, distribution, and procurement plans for vessel needs.
Ensure timely and accurate flow of supplies in line with vessel operational schedules.
Coordinate with operational, procurement, and vendor teams to ensure smooth operations.
Prepare periodic logistics and supply chain reports.
