Job Description

Position Overview The

Head of Accounting & Controlling

is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting, statutory compliance, internal controls, and performance management processes. The role leads the Accounting, Controlling, and Reporting functions to ensure strong governance, optimized financial performance, and full compliance with local regulations and corporate standards. This position partners closely with the CFO, business leaders, and regional/global finance teams to drive financial transparency, operational efficiency, and strategic decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting

Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes with high accuracy and timeliness.

Ensure compliance with IFRS/local GAAP, corporate accounting guidelines, and internal financial policies.

Oversee preparation of financial statements, management reports, and consolidation packages.

Manage general ledger, fixed assets, inventory valuation, accruals, and provisions.

Ensure robust documentation and audit trails for all accounting entries.

Controlling & Performance Management

Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term planning processes.

Lead product costing, standard cost updates, and variance analysis for manufacturing operations.

Monitor OPEX, COGS, CAPEX, and working capital KPIs with actionable insights for management.

Develop dashboards, scorecards, and analytics for business performance monitoring.

Internal Controls, Governance & Compliance

Design, implement, and enforce a strong internal control framework (ICFR/SOX‑equivalent).

Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements (VAT, WHT, CIT, customs).

Own financial risk management—credit risk, inventory risk, FX risk, and compliance risks.

Lead internal and external audit processes; drive remediation and continuous improvement.

Treasury, Cash & Working Capital

Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and bank relationships.

Optimize working capital—collections, payables, inventory turnover.

Support FX exposure forecasting and hedge effectiveness analysis.

Ensure treasury‑related controls and approval frameworks.

Business Partnering

Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Projects to provide financial insights.

Support pricing strategies, commercial terms, and margin optimization.

Participate in investment decisions—CAPEX evaluation, IRR/NPV analysis, make‑or‑buy scenarios.

Drive financial discipline across the organization through training and process enhancement.

Systems, Process Excellence & Digitalization

Lead finance digitalization initiatives (ERP enhancements, automation, analytics tools).

Ensure data accuracy, system controls, and process standardization.

Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, closing cycles, and reporting timelines.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing Accounting & Controlling team.

Establish a culture of ownership, accountability, and excellence.

Ensure succession planning and capability building within the finance organization.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional certifications preferred (CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA).

12+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Controlling, or Finance leadership roles.

Strong experience in IFRS/PSAK, statutory compliance, and audit management.

Prior experience in manufacturing/JV/multinational environment is highly desirable.

Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred), financial modeling, and analytics tools.
