Operating Theatre (OT) Manager at a General Hospital Specialized in Infectious Diseases [Full-time]

Job Summary:
The Operating Theatre (OT) Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the three Operating Theatres of a 100-bed hospital, ensuring the efficient, safe, and effective delivery of surgical services. The role involves coordinating surgical teams, managing OT resources, maintaining compliance with medical regulations, and ensuring high standards of patient safety and infection control. We are looking for a motivated Operating Theatre (OT) Manager who is assisting, guiding, and supervising the Resident OT Manager in this position to develop the required skills for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Supervise and coordinate all OT activities, ensuring the smooth scheduling and execution of surgical procedures.
Develop and enforce specialized protocols for operating in an infectious disease hospital, including high-level infection prevention strategies.
Ensure optimal utilization of OT resources, including staff, equipment, and operating rooms, while minimizing cross-contamination risks.
Implement emergency preparedness protocols for handling highly infectious cases requiring surgical intervention.
Staff Management & Coordination:
Lead and manage OT personnel, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support staff, ensuring adherence to strict infection control measures.
Organize regular training and professional development programs focusing on surgical safety, infection prevention, and biosafety protocols.
Ensure proper staffing levels for all shifts, with contingency planning for emergency cases involving infectious diseases.
Conduct performance evaluations and implement strategies for team efficiency and patient safety improvement.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to WHO, CDC, ISO, and Ministry of Health infection control guidelines specific to surgical procedures in infectious disease settings.
Monitor and enforce sterile processing and aseptic techniques, minimizing the risk of cross-infection in the OT.
Conduct routine audits and risk assessments to maintain compliance with healthcare safety and surgical standards.
Work closely with infection control specialists to implement continuous improvement initiatives in OT hygiene and safety protocols.
Equipment & Inventory Management:
Oversee procurement, maintenance, and servicing of surgical equipment, ensuring their suitability for use in an infectious disease hospital.
Ensure proper sterilization, storage, and availability of surgical instruments to prevent contamination.
Maintain an adequate stock of essential surgical supplies, PPE, and biohazard containment materials, ensuring uninterrupted surgical operations.
Collaborate with biomedical engineering teams to monitor the functionality and safety of OT
Budget & Cost Control:
Manage OT operational expenses, optimizing cost-efficiency while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Develop and oversee budgets related to OT operations, equipment procurement, and staff training.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality of patient care and infection control measures.

Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related medical field.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in OT management or surgical unit supervision.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, OT protocols, and patient care standards, specific to infectious diseases.
Certification in healthcare management, infection control, or operating room nursing is a plus.
Experience in managing teams and coordinating multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals in high-risk surgical settings.
Reference letters from previous jobs are required.
Candidates must be proficient in Bahasa Indonesia. English proficiency is considered an advantage.
