The Opportunity
We are seeking a professional to join the Acumen team to provide full-time support to one of our prestigious higher education clients, University of Melbourne*.
Reporting to the Country Manager (Indonesia), the Country Officer will operate within the framework of the University of Melbourne’s Indonesia Strategy to develop, strengthen, and sustain the University’s presence in Indonesia.

Role Summary:
This role requires a dynamic and highly motivated professional with exceptional communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. The incumbent will lead and support a broad range of activities undertaken for the University of Melbourne in Indonesia, including profiling, student recruitment, stakeholder relationship management, and associated administrative functions.
A substantial component of the role involves facilitating and representing the University at student recruitment activities such as education exhibitions, information seminars, webinars, interview programs, and school visits. The position also supports University initiatives across Indonesia, manages relationships with third-party partners, and oversees the management of recruitment data and marketing materials.
Success in this role requires a strong understanding of the University of Melbourne student experience and the ability to engage effectively and professionally with prospective students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Country Manager, provide comprehensive planning, coordination, and delivery of student recruitment initiatives and activities.
Maintain the Indonesia social media accounts, ensuring alignment with recruitment objectives and brand guidelines.
Liaise, as required, with the University of Melbourne’s design, recruitment operations, and other Melbourne-based teams to support recruitment-related tasks and projects.
Represent the University at education fairs, school visits, and university visits as required.
Contribute to the delivery of additional student recruitment activities as needed.
Actively engage with prospective students, parents, and education agents to support student conversion.
Assist in the management of incoming enquiries from prospective students via email, telephone, and the University’s CRM system, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Support data collection, maintenance, and updates for reporting and analysis purposes.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment that promotes innovation, teamwork, high performance, continuous improvement, and job satisfaction.
Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the Country Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
A tertiary qualification in marketing, international relations, international business or related field and/or relevant experience and training.
A minimum of three years’ relevant work experience in international student recruitment, preferably with an Australian focus.
Experience of student recruitment practices in Indonesia and the Indonesian education system.
Study experience in Australia is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal engagement skills.
Strong understanding of the Australian education system.
Understanding of social media management systems, including content planning and scheduling tools, analytics and reporting dashboards, audience targeting, engagement strategies, and performance optimisation aligned with organisational objectives.
Word-processing, spreadsheet and data management skills, including working with digital customer relationship management systems.
Capacity to build effective collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders, including agents, schools, and university representatives.
Highly developed organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Proficiency in standard office productivity software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM platforms.
High proficiency in spoken and written English and demonstrated experience in communicating effectively with people in broad range of roles.
