Indonesia-based Recruitment Officer
for the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK via Grok Global Services’ Program Office. The role will be based in Jakarta, and will be fully dedicated to representing the University of Edinburgh.

About the Role
The International Recruitment Officer will support the University of Edinburgh’s international student recruitment strategy by helping to grow and diversify the student population across key markets in South East Asia.
Key aspects of the role include:
Supporting international student recruitment activity across priority South East Asia markets, including
Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, and the Philippines
Contributing to the delivery of the University’s international recruitment strategy and broader international objectives
Working as part of the
International and Postgraduate Recruitment Team (IPRT)
within the
Student Recruitment and Admissions (SRA)
department
Reporting to the International Recruitment Manager based in Edinburgh
Supporting the planning, development, and delivery of student recruitment, marketing, and conversion activities across the region
Assisting with the identification of market opportunities and supporting initiatives designed to grow the University’s presence and student enrolments in assigned markets
Promoting the University of Edinburgh’s brand and raising its profile in international markets
Representing the University at education fairs, online webinars, and other recruitment events
Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including schools and colleges
Organising and supporting recruitment events and delivering smaller-scale projects
Providing consistently high-quality customer service to prospective students and other University stakeholders
Contributing specialist advice, information, and practical support to IPRT senior management, academic schools, and relevant professional services in relation to international recruitment and market development activities
Supporting the wider South East Asia team with day-to-day recruitment activities and initiatives

Main duties and responsibilities
Other duties will include:
Undertake student recruitment and conversion activities to promote the University of Edinburgh at a wide variety of events, primarily targeting students and influencers from the assigned region.
Supporting recruitment to all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University.
Supporting and training education agents and other partners in the region to ensure consistent and accurate representation of the University.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with agents and school counsellors in the region and delivering an excellent customer service.
Acting as a key point of contact for enquirers across the region through various communication channels.
Supporting the International Recruitment Manager, where appropriate, to complete operational plans for the region.
Guided by the International Recruitment Manager, identify market opportunities and deliver market intelligence to support recruitment objectives.
Assisting in developing appropriate marketing and messaging appropriate to attract applicants.
Contributing to conversion activities to support students throughout the recruitment cycle and enrolment.
As directed by the International Recruitment Manager, support liaison with key sponsors and other relevant partners within the region.
Supporting the organisation of University of Edinburgh recruitment and conversion events in market, as well as conferences for key stakeholders such as agents and school counsellors, both in the UK and in market.
Take on any other projects and duties that may arise related to student recruitment as required by the department.
Person Specification
Experience:
Two or more years of experience or equivalent in a role related to education or international education, with an emphasis on recruitment.
Able to write fluent emails and reports in English. Able to engage in subtle and significant conversations with senior stakeholders at the University.
Fluent spoken English, with strong verbal communication skills and the ability and confidence to present to large audiences of differing stakeholders from prospective students and their parents to funding bodies.
Knowledge of and extensive experience in the Southeast Asian region.
Knowledge and life experience with the UK education system and institutions.
Experience delivering on recruitment plans
Highly developed interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate appropriately with a wide variety of people, ranging from prospective students and their advisers to senior university representatives and government officials.
Able to provide a high-level of customer service in a busy environment with a friendly and approachable manner.
Ability to work independently, and to prioritise and meet tight deadlines; self-motivated, self-disciplined and reliable.
