Assistant Technical Marketing Manager

JOB PURPOSE To provide technical support to Silica Sales, Asia and become an industry expert for Paint & Coatings and at least another of the following markets: Pharma, Adsorbents and Personal Care

DIMENSIONS Complete 20-30 customers projects per year by visiting customer sites, carrying out lab work and reporting results on benefit-in-use of PQ silica products. Deliver 8-10 technical training courses per year on silica products to customers, sales personnel or distributors. Manage at least 3 Supply Chain Project.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ensure all activities are completed safely and are adequately covered by risk assessments.

Acquire an excellent knowledge of technologies and scientific fields that are of interest to PQ Silica Business in Asia by supporting Sales at Customer visits and attending customer trials

Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of key applications/technologies relevant to the business by attending Technical Conferences and Tradeshows.

Contribute to the expansion of application testing capabilities in the Pasuruan Lab

Train customers, Sales personnel and Distributors in proper use of PQ products in their application.

Create new technical presentations in support of Silica Products promotion

Develop awareness of external technical developments in targeted areas

The role will include some aspects of project management, direct or indirect.

Contribute to the strategic direction of the Asia Silica Business

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Written and spoken fluency in English

Good teamwork and collaboration skills

Ability to lead complex problem-solving activities and interpret data using technical expertise to generate information and present solutions.

Strong decision-making ability and communication skills will be essential to influence internal stakeholders and external customers.

Fully co-operative when flexible working is required.

Availability to travel frequently within Asia and occasionally outside of Asia

Desire to learn and proactively seek and explore opportunities for personal development.

Ability to become a recognised specialist in the technical field.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A Master Degree in a relevant technical subject with up to 10 years work experience in a relevant business is preferred.
