Job Summary
The Sous Chef works closely with the Head Baker to manage daily operations and lead the kitchen team during shifts. This is a critical operational role focused on executing the vision, ensuring consistent product quality, and leading the baking team to deliver excellence. The Sous Chef/Asst. Head Baker plays a vital role in managing costs through efficientoperations, waste reduction, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Job Descriptions :
Actively to support financial performance (cost management efforts, inventory & portion control)
Execute outlet-specific goals and strategic initiatives. Provide feedback from the operational perspective to support continuous improvement
Lead the kitchen team during operational management (efficient operations from opening to closing), ensure food quality assurance and consistency
Execute training and development plans for the baking team and supervise junior team members
Ensure that all baked goods produced maintain consistent quality and presentation, contributing to a positive guest experience
Support the Head Baker in implementing and enforcing all hygiene protocols and food safety practices. Ensure a clean,safe, and compliant working environment
Requirements :
Diploma & Bachelor Degree university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management
Minimum of 3-4 years of professional baking & western food experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role (e.g., Senior Baker or Junior Sous Chef) in a high-volume bakery or pastry & central kitchen
Strong practical knowledge of baking techniques & western food, particularly in viennoiserie, sourdough, and artisanal breads
Understand the principles of HACCP, food safety, and kitchen sanitation
Strong ability to troubleshoot operational and production issues quickly and effectively
Clear communication skills and the abilityto work collaboratively with the Head Baker and the broader team
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Basic computer skills
