The cost engineer should have basic knowledge in cost estimate approach, engineering, a good eye for detail, advanced mathematical skills, methodical approach and good interpersonal skills, people understanding and ability to support the project management team with negotiation strategies.Broad knowledge in estimation software, having good communication in English, certification in Quantity Survey and Cost Management/Estimation will be advantageous.This role will be based in Becaโs Jakarta office but travelling maybe required from time to time to project sites within Indonesia.**Requirement*** S1/bachelorโs degree in engineering (Mechanical or Civil / Structural preferred)* 2-4 yearsโ experience in cost estimation* Cost and contract management experience in various capital project* Knowledge in project preparation, engineering and construction processes* Excellent interpersonal skills, team player and self-motivated* Ability to read and interpret design drawings* Good knowledge in basic project control management is preferred* Well versed with Cost Estimating Types (Class of Estimate), Usage and Methodologies (Accuracy range)* Well versed with Cost Estimating Tools (Format structure, work breakdown structure etc)* Experience in sourcing and using benchmark data base* Assist in managing the office estimating database with cost estimating management form the wider Beca organisation* Experience in the following: Direct Field Costs, Indirect Field Costs, Services Costs, Escalation, Benchmarking and Unit Rates for Key Commodities, Currency fluctuation, tax & insurance costs, and performance bonds & letter of credit costs, Estimate Plan, Basis of Estimate, Use of Allowances, Cost Contingency, Input of Estimate into Global Pricing Modelโs Template, Data Analyst, Comparison Analyst, Input into and Use of Historical Data, Procurement including a comprehensive understanding of Purchase Order, Budget Quotations and โProcurement Action.* Good communication in English including verbal and written communication skills* Good skills in MS Excel and fully versed with MS Office suite of software (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) **Cost Engineer Responsibilities*** Understanding the scope and scale of the project* Where required undertake travel to project sites to gather information on materials, labour and other factors to build the estimate* Collaboration with engineers, contractors, and other service providers* Consulting with the Beca subject matter experts for improvement of the cost estimate process* Reviewing the project planning and quantifying the cost tracking* Reviewing cost profile of the project and provide the recommendation to project lead* Assist in the development of the cost control budget* Prepare cost reports, analysis, cost elements in a contract, budgets, cost risk assessment and other document related to cost management* Active input with project management team for the development of procurement and contract packagesBeca is looking to recruit an **Junior Cost Engineer** to provide cost management services in our team. In this role a cost engineer will be required to have a proactive attitude to collect and analyse data, provide accurate estimate of the project cost, including material, equipment, labour, services and any cost related to the project. This role will also be tasked with developing and analysing budget, cost improvements, reviewing plan and quantity estimates, cost management related to pricing of contracts.Make everyday better
