About the Role
We’re looking for a Creative Strategist with a strong video editing background to develop high-performing creative concepts for paid social. This role blends strategy, research, copywriting, and hands-on editing, working closely with our Growth and Creative teams to translate insights into ads that convert.
You must be able to produce performance-driven video & image ads, craft compelling angles, write clear briefs, and leverage AI tools to accelerate ideation and execution. A portfolio demonstrating direct-response performance wins is required.
Responsibilities
Creative Strategy & Performance
Develop creative concepts, angles, and hooks aligned with performance goals, customer personas, and client goals.
Write clear, creative briefs for editors/designers (ad creative briefs, UGC briefs, production briefs, VO scripts).
Build strategic plans outlining creative direction and testing timelines.
Advise the Growth Strategist on winning angles and creative decisions.
Oversee deliverables from ideation → execution → testing → results.
Analyze paid media performance and turn insights into actionable creative recommendations.
Conduct competitive intel, social media trends research, social listening.
Adjust, iterate, or sunset concepts based on data—not ego.
Ideally, create full-funnel experiences (ad → landing page).
Quality Control
Sign off on all creatives before testing, ensuring they follow performance principles, brand guidelines, and contain zero typos.
Workflow & Research
Join client meetings alongside the Growth Strategist to present learnings and next steps.
Conduct competitive intel, trend monitoring, and social listening.
Deeply research customer demographics and psychographics using Reddit, FB groups, comments under ads, and organic content.
Identify natural-language patterns, sentiment, objections, and emerging angles.
Innovation & Best Practices
Stay up to date with top creators, performance frameworks, and industry methodologies.
Encourage and train the team in adopting new technologies and AI tools.
Share best practices, resources, and educational opportunities with the creative team.
Hiring & Team Contribution
Participate in hiring editors/designers.
Review test tasks and assist in designing them.
Technical & Tool Expertise
Edit videos quickly and at high quality using Adobe CC (alternative tools are accepted, please let us know what you use).
Actively use AI and process-simplification tools (e.g., VEO 3.1, Veed.io, ElevenLabs, Arcards, ChatGPT).
Use research tools (Atria, Foreplay, AdSpy) to identify winning formats and angles.
Ideally, have experience working efficiently within project management systems (Asana, ClickUp, Jira, Notion, Confluence).
Ideally, have experience managing assets through Pics.io, Frame.io, and stock libraries.
Maintain and optimize tool subscriptions for the creative team.
Qualifications
1.5–2+ years as a Creative Strategist & Senior Paid Media Video Editor. Additional experience providing strategy for designers or creating static deliverables is preferable.
Experience in DTC brands & Supplements product is a must
Proven track record of producing high-performing direct-response ads.
Strong copywriting for paid ads, UGC scripts, and production briefs. Ideally, experience writing copy for the funnels and/or VSLs.
Ability to storyboard for UGC and production-level shoots.
Video editing proficiency (Adobe CC, or other tools) and ability to deliver fast, high-quality iterations.
Hands-on experience with AI creative tools.
Familiarity with research tools, version control tools, and project management software.
Preferred Skills
Must be hands-on with editing (not only strategy).
Must be able to produce winning ad creatives (portfolio required).
Must demonstrate real examples of using AI tools in your workflow.
