Head of Accounting and Tax, Specialty Chemicals

Our client is a well-established company in the specialty chemicals manufacturing industry. They are seeking a Head of Accounting and Tax to assume overall responsibility for financial reporting and compliance in Jakarta. This role will oversee a team of 10, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong regulatory compliance, and robust internal controls while supporting the overall finance strategy and business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and inventory Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting Ensure compliance with Indonesian GAAP and group reporting requirements Manage all tax matters, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and transfer pricing documentation Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities Ensure timely statutory reporting and compliance with local regulations Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies and governance standards Support budgeting and forecasting processes from an accounting and compliance perspective Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10, ensuring strong performance and succession planning

REQUIREMENTS: At least 10 years of experience in accounting and tax, preferably within manufacturing or specialty chemicals Proven experience as Head of Accounting, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership role Strong technical knowledge of Indonesian GAAP, taxation, and statutory reporting requirements Experience managing audits and tax examinations Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage and develop a team CPA / CA / ACCA or Brevet A & B certification preferred Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia
