Job Description
We are seeking a Financial Analyst / Petroleum Economist (Staff Level) to support economic evaluation and decision-making for upstream oil and gas activities. This role will focus on project economics, investment analysis, and financial modeling to support exploration, development, and production initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain economic models for upstream oil & gas projects
Conduct project evaluations including NPV, IRR, breakeven, and sensitivity analysis
Analyze production forecasts, CAPEX, OPEX, and fiscal terms
Support field development planning, budgeting, and investment proposals
Monitor oil & gas market trends, pricing assumptions, and economic risks
Collaborate with subsurface, engineering, finance, and commercial teams
Assist in economic reporting and management presentations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related field
1–3 years of experience in petroleum economics or upstream oil & gas analysis
Strong understanding of upstream business models and fiscal regimes
Proficient in Excel-based financial modeling (economic evaluation tools a plus)
Good analytical skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with PSC/contractor economics
Exposure to investment analysis or project economics in upstream oil & gas
