Overview
Job holder is the coordinator for U.S. Embassy housing. In this role the holder manages the logistics of housing assignments, advises the Interagency Housing Board (IAHB) on regulatory and technical details, liaises with the Department of State Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) on housing matters and waivers, and chairs the Mission’s Make‑Ready Meetings that ensure housing preparations are carefully coordinated to coincide with the arrival and departure of Embassy employees. The position requires excellent management skills and constant communication with several offices within the U.S. Mission and incoming/outgoing embassy staff. The holder also develops working relationships with landlords, agents and management companies to build a successful housing program. The role is directly supervised by the General Service Officer in charge of Housing.
Responsibilities
Manage logistics of housing assignments and oversee the Housing Pool.
Advises the Interagency Housing Board (IAHB) on regulatory and technical details of housing assignments.
Liaise with the Department of State Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) on housing matters and waivers.
Chair the Mission’s Make‑Ready Meetings to coordinate housing preparations with employee arrivals and departures.
Maintain continuous dialogue with landlords and management companies to ensure a successful housing program.
Handle administrative management duties related to housing.
Requirements
Must be able to obtain and hold a Low Risk/Non‑Sensitive security certificate.
Subject to a background investigation and may need a pre‑employment medical exam.
Candidates must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time, up to one month from receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications; otherwise candidacy may end.
Education Requirements
Completion of two years of college or university studies is required. (For non‑U.S. educational certificates/degrees, please provide U.S. education equivalency certification/transcript.)

Qualifications
Experience: Three years of experience in a customer service atmosphere that includes managing logistics in real estate, marketing, sales, or a customer-oriented business is required. (One credited year equals 40 hours/week × 52 weeks or 2,080 hours.)
Language: Fluent written and spoken English, including the ability to translate.
