Bookkeeper

Job Purpose and Role We’re looking for a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper with a CPA background to oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The role combines traditional bookkeeping responsibilities with higher‑level accounting expertise, ideal for someone who thrives on both transactional and strategic aspects of finance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.

Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Support payroll processing, employee reimbursements, and related tax filings.

Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and cash flow tracking.

Support external audits and tax preparations by ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and accurate.

Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls to improve financial operations.

Assist leadership in financial decision‑making by providing timely insights and analysis.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

CPA certification preferred (active or inactive license accepted, depending on jurisdiction).

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience, preferably in SaaS and health‑tech industries.

Strong understanding of US GAAP, tax compliance, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Proficiency with Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite).

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Job Type & Hours Full time, remote. Standard US business hours: 9 am–5 pm EST or 8:30 am–4:30 pm EST.
