Job Pupose The Area Manager

will be based in Surabaya

and plays a crucial role in driving the sustainable growth of the restaurants under their responsibility by managing teams, enhancing customer experience, increasing sales, and generating profit. They lead strategic change, promote innovation, and elevate operational excellence to ensure the restaurants remain competitive and respond effectively to rapidly changing customer and market demands.

The Area Manager is not merely a practitioner who plans, coaches, and supervises staff, but also serves as a guide and coordinator with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure objectives are achieved, leveraging data, technology, and resources to enhance the efficiency of store and business management.

STRATEGIC EXECUTION & PERFORMANCE ACCELERATION RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Transformation & Business Acumen Translate the organization’s vision into actionable regional or area-level strategies that drive growth and enhance competitiveness. Analyze business trends based on in-depth customer insights and competitive landscape to make decisions and develop strategies for improving store performance, turning around underperforming stores, identifying new opportunities, and mitigating operational risks. Initiate cross-functional or cross-business group collaboration to improve store performance, cost structure, and overall business efficiency. Develop strategic plans for store expansion, format development, and adaptation to customer needs and market conditions to drive growth, profitability, and elevate brand standards.

Fostering Innovation & Continuous Improvement Promote a culture of innovation across all stores, supporting experimentation and agile problem-solving. Identify, pilot, and implement improvement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate service quality. Utilize technology and data analytics to make accurate decisions and drive effective engagement with employees and customers. Monitor business and marketing trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies, sharing insights with leadership to inform future strategic initiatives. Encourage knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices within the team.

Accelerating Performance & Operational Excellence Set challenging goals and develop store action plans to achieve both financial performance and customer satisfaction. Promote a customer-centric culture, analyze customer data to identify areas for improvement, and/or initiate actions that enhance brand loyalty. Actively participate in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-potential store management teams, and create succession plans to build a strong future leadership pipeline (Store Talent Succession Plan). Regularly monitor and evaluate store operations to ensure compliance with brand standards, safety, hygiene, and product/service quality (Operational Excellence). Improve labor productivity, cost control, and operational efficiency. Lead crisis management and develop business continuity plans for the assigned area (Business Continuity Plan).

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

People Management Develop manpower plans for store managers and store management teams. Build a team that represents the brand and serve as a role model for staff (Brand Ambassador). Recruit and select store managers according to established methods and standards to ensure high-quality personnel (Talent Scout). Ensure all employees are properly trained and competent in all processes, and can perform according to operational standards (Operational Standard). Coach, mentor, and develop store managers to enhance leadership skills and ensure they can effectively apply their learning (Head Coach). Plan employee development, regularly monitor and evaluate performance and progress, and create quarterly recruitment and development plans for store managers and management teams (Green-Yellow-Red), while selecting high-potential staff for the Talent Tank (Career Succession Plan). Recognize and reward good performance, and address or discipline store managers in accordance with company policies (Managing Employee Performance – MEP). Foster a positive work environment that motivates employees (Great Place to Work).

Sales Management Set clear daily and monthly sales targets for the stores under responsibility to ensure every store has well-defined goals. Explain, supervise, and monitor the team to ensure effective execution of marketing plans and NPD promotions, and provide accurate guidance on products and promotional materials 100% correctly. Review daily sales performance of the stores to analyze variances, understand sales outcomes, and identify improvement measures for underperforming stores. Study and understand sales drivers and sales mix to inform accurate sales planning, and prepare branch-level marketing plans (Marketing Guru). Implement Local Store Marketing (LSM) when necessary to enhance store sales performance. Ensure stores operate across all channels according to company guidelines and explore opportunities to increase sales, such as adjusting or extending operating hours, expanding seating, and avoiding early closures or restricted seating areas, to maximize revenue.

Customer Management Review and analyze customer needs and segments at each branch to deliver memorable service experiences, and instill a culture of 100% customer satisfaction at all times. Monitor and maintain QSC standards, as well as the quality of materials, equipment, facilities, and store conditions, to ensure optimal customer satisfaction. Address and resolve customer complaints efficiently until issues are fully resolved. Build and maintain strong customer relationships (Customer Relationship Management), representing the brand to establish recognition and popularity within the store’s local area.

Business & Profit Management Analyze and understand assigned targets, set budgets for store operations, production costs (COG), labor costs (COL), and other store expenses, and review the store’s profit and loss (P&L) to achieve the desired store contribution. Explain and communicate targets to all store managers to ensure alignment in operations, and collaboratively plan store management and expenses in line with the approved budget (Action Plan / Unit Visit). Conduct, review, and monitor SWOT analysis for each branch, and develop strategies to build the customer base and drive profitability. Support and assist store managers in all aspects to drive sales and remove operational obstacles for the team (Servant Leader). Control, monitor, and audit store performance regularly to ensure compliance with established standards. Resolve issues and analyze opportunities to maximize profitability for the stores under responsibility (Synergist).

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Qualifications: Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good command of English. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration or a related field Experience: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in business management within the food and service industry.

JOB PROFILE Work 6 days per week. Flexible working days and hours. Travel nationwide, including to other provinces. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Customer service-oriented. Able to manager big team up to 100 employees.
