Job Description
The candidate for this position will excel at creating and closing new opportunities. By using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their expertise to identify and qualify leads, leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers. Experience in a global environment with large brands, familiarity with international commercial terms and negotiating with large brands is needed to be successful in this role.
2. DUTIES
2.1. Main duties
Achieve or exceed sales and profitability targets as set by VP of Sales & Marketing.
Search for, identify, and qualify new customers
Identify customer needs and think of new ways that the company can fill the needs in ways that create value for the customer and for the company.
Conduct extensive research and perform thorough due diligence on prospective customers
Enter pipeline activity into CRM tool on a weekly basis.
Review account portfolio with manager on a regular basis.
Attend industry conferences and seminars (knowledge-based events) where thought leadership is front and center.
Create RFPs
Work collaboratively and in cooperation with a global team of project managers, designers and finance staff to get work done efficiently as well as to present a unified the Company image to customers.
Continuously network with contacts using a variety of channels
Engage in consultative, solution-based sales conversations with new prospects (sourced by you or others), and continue conversations with existing clients.
Domestic and International travel to customer HQ and distribution centers is required.
3. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
3.1 Formal education and experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of solution-based, outside sales experience.
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
Printing processes and/or converting plant operations.
Packaging line operations and cost drivers
Global supply chains including inventory management, fulfillment, and distribution.
Microsoft CRM
Knowledge of packaging distribution sales or packaging solution sales
Proven ability to sell packaging solutions to C-suite level executives
Innate desire to sell a value-added service
Natural affinity for and curiosity about retail and transport packaging design
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
Proven negotiation and assertive communication skills
Ability to remain calm and professional during times of stress
Proven resilience (i.e. ability to be told “no” multiple times and to recover quickly)
Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
Intermediate math skills (algebra/medium level statistics)
Professional experience with CRM
Proven ethical business practices
