Co‑create the future with us as we build technology that transforms how the world develops software.

An overview of this role As a Staff Salesforce Developer, you’ll serve as the technical architect and hands‑on engineer transforming GitLab’s Lead‑to‑Cash and Go‑to‑Market ecosystems. You’ll design, build, and scale enterprise‑grade solutions across Salesforce Sales Cloud, CPQ, and related systems that directly support how we sell, price, and deliver GitLab’s AI‑powered DevSecOps platform. In this role, you’ll own the full lifecycle of complex Salesforce implementations, partnering closely with revenue and business leaders to turn strategic goals into robust technical roadmaps and working with the Salesforce GTM engineering team to deliver secure, high‑performance applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components, process automation, and modern CI/CD practices.

You’ll be a key technical leader within the Enterprise Applications organization, providing architectural direction, mentoring other developers, and using sound judgment to decide when to extend standard platform capabilities or build custom solutions. In your first year, you’ll drive critical Quote‑to‑Cash transformation efforts, elevate the scalability and stability of our Sales Cloud environment, and help shape the standards and patterns that enable GitLab to scale its operations efficiently and compliantly.

Some examples of our projects:

Re‑architecting pricing and approval workflows in Salesforce Sales Cloud to support new product offerings and packaging

Designing custom components that extend standard CPQ capabilities to better align with GitLab’s Lead‑to‑Cash processes

What you’ll do

Lead hands‑on development of complex Salesforce solutions, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), process automation, and SOQL, for business‑critical applications

Own end‑to‑end Salesforce Sales Cloud architecture and implementation, ensuring scalable, performant, and stable solutions across high‑complexity projects

Drive custom Go‑to‑Market initiatives by designing and building components or services that extend standard CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) capabilities

Support Lead‑to‑Cash and Quote‑to‑Cash transformation efforts by mapping business processes and implementing robust, efficient workflows in Salesforce and related systems

Partner with go‑to‑market and revenue leaders to translate strategic priorities into clear technical roadmaps, designs, and implementation plans

Act as a technical expert and mentor for the Salesforce GTM engineering team, guiding design decisions, reviewing code, and elevating overall engineering practices

Coordinate complex technical projects from concept through deployment, managing dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs to deliver reliable outcomes

Apply sound technical judgment to decide when to use standard platform features versus custom development, with a focus on security, data protection, and long‑term maintainability

What you’ll bring

Deep hands‑on experience developing on the Salesforce platform, including Apex, Process Automation, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL

Proven background designing, building, and scaling enterprise‑grade applications across Sales Cloud, CPQ, Service Cloud Console, and related systems

Experience acting as a technical architect for complex Lead‑to‑Cash and Quote‑to‑Cash solutions, with a focus on scalable, resilient, and maintainable designs

Strong knowledge of secure Salesforce development practices, including data protection, compliance considerations, and use of native platform controls

Practical experience with modern development workflows, including Salesforce DX (SFDX), CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tools such as Gearset or Copado

Demonstrated ability to mentor other developers, communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders, and collaborate with go‑to‑market and business leaders

Commitment to writing clean, testable code and using code reviews, automation, and documentation to support long‑term system health

Relevant Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer II, CPQ Specialist, or other Sales Cloud and Service Cloud credentials, or equivalent hands‑on expertise from diverse or transferable backgrounds

About the team On the Enterprise Applications team, we own and evolve GitLab’s core business systems, including Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zuora, and NetSuite, to support scalable, compliant Lead‑to‑Cash and Quote‑to‑Cash operations. You’ll join a distributed group of engineers and administrators who collaborate asynchronously across time zones, using GitLab and shared documentation to design, build, and maintain reliable, secure integrations and features for our Go‑to‑Market teams. Our focus is on introducing new capabilities while keeping the production environment stable and audit‑ready, partnering closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to turn complex business requirements into robust, sustainable system solutions.
