Tanoto Foundation Indonesia has grown in term of activities, grant size and the number of staff in the last few years. Alongside with that growth, Tanoto Foundation had evolve to focus and balancing out between program implementation and advocacy. The number of our beneficiaries also growing in all over Indonesia. As Such, a Assistant Manager position with speciality in Monitoring, learning and evaluation capabilities is needed in order to synthesize the results from programs and organizational strategic direction towards world class foundation.
PROGRAM OPERATION & SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT
Design monitoring, learning, and evaluation (MLE) frameworks, fit-for-purpose methodologies, and tools to ensure strong accountability and continuous learning. This position will support impact measurement for Leadership Development and Advocacy programmes.
Lead external evaluators and programme teams in implementing MLE activities, including instrument development, data collection, data cleaning, data analysis, generation of recommendations, reflection sessions, and reporting of results.
Champion the use of data and evidence for adaptive management, strategic decision-making, and impact communication.
Train and mentor provincial staff, programme teams, and enumerators on data collection, output and outcome reporting, and evidence-based programme design.
Develop and manage digital data systems, including databases, dashboards, and data visualisation tools for programme monitoring and analysis.
Regularly review and update MLE frameworks, methodologies, and tools to ensure alignment with evolving programme design and implementation.
Produce lessons learned and knowledge products based on MLE insights to support public learning and inform policy discussions.
Provide occasional support to programme teams in disseminating and advocating for the adoption of assessment and impact measurement tools among external stakeholders.
PROGRAM STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT
Support the Head of MLE in programme reporting, MLE strategy development, and strengthening organisational data culture.
Track emerging trends in impact measurement and integrate relevant innovations into MLE practices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education / Experience
Have a minimum Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Evaluation, Econometrics, Social Study, Development Study or related field.
Have a minimum of 5 years of working experience in monitoring and evaluation, impact measurement, data science, research, market research, or behavioural changes, either in the private sector or non-profit.
Specific knowledge and aptitude
Understanding of impact measurement methodologies and assessment tools, both quantitative and qualitative, for development programs, especially in education, leadership development, and system-change initiatives. Experience in RCT, Quasi Experimental, Outcome Harvesting, Contribution Analysis is an advantage
Analytical (data interpretation) and insight synthesis skills
Data visualisation through digital-based tools and platform (PowerBii, Kobo)
Effective impact communication, reporting, and writing skills
Mastery of English, both written and verbal, preferred
Technical Business/Philanthropy understanding
Willing to travel to the foundation’s operation areas
