Senior Engineer – Advanced Inspection Technologies

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer, Advanced Inspection Technologies to support the development, validation, and deployment of advanced inspection and metrology solutions across new propulsion programs, including turbofan, microjet, and related engine technologies.

This role plays a critical part in NPI and FAI execution, supplier readiness, and production release, working closely with design, manufacturing, quality teams, suppliers, and equipment partners.

About the Role As the Senior Engineer – Advanced Inspection Technologies, you will lead hands‑on inspection engineering through prototype, industrial qualification, and FAI approval stages. You will shape inspection methods, influence design for inspectability, support supplier development, and play a key role in ensuring robust inspection capability for production.

Inspection Method Development & Validation Develop and validate inspection methods and measurement strategies for complex propulsion components and assemblies. Program, validate, and optimize inspection routines using CMM and advanced metrology systems. Support deployment of technologies including optical inspection, laser scanning, CT, and in‑process measurement systems.

NPI & FAI Execution Lead inspection activities through all NPI phases, from prototype to FAI approval. Prepare and review FAI packages, inspection reports, capability studies, and qualification documentation. Support industrial qualification and inspection capability validation for production readiness.

Design for Inspectability Advise design teams on inspectable features, datum structures, tolerances, and GD&T. Participate in design reviews, tolerance analysis, and engineering trade studies. Identify inspection risks early and support mitigation plans. Review supplier inspection plans, FAI submissions, and measurement strategies. Help resolve supplier inspection issues and define incoming inspection requirements and sampling plans.

Documentation & Handover Develop and validate inspection work instructions, control plans, and inspection strategies. Ensure documentation is approved and transferred to relevant quality organizations for serial production. Provide technical support for system handover and optimization.

Technical Leadership Serve as a subject matter expert in inspection and metrology. Lead standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability development across the team.

Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Metrology Engineering. 6+ years of experience in aerospace inspection, metrology, or manufacturing engineering. Strong hands‑on experience with CMM programming, GD&T application, and inspection planning. Experience supporting NPI, FAI, and industrial qualification. Skilled in working within concurrent engineering environments and supplier‑facing roles.
