agricultural supply chain management , sourcing, or grower relations? Do you have proven experience working
directly with growers or agronomists
to enhance soil health and crop performance? Do you understand
soil science, sustainable agriculture, or regenerative farming practices?

Forney Enterprises is a leading kava manufacturing and export company with deep agribusiness roots, partnering directly with local farmers in the purchase of raw materials and contributing to the sustainable development of Vanuatu’s kava industry. As part of our long-term commitment to sustainability, community partnerships, and operational excellence, we are establishing a dedicated Supply Chain function within our business to strengthen this critical area and ensure the future of the industry.
The Role:
As Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent and sustainable supply of raw materials—particularly kava—while driving efficiency across procurement, warehousing, and logistics. This role combines
strategic leadership
with
hands-on agricultural expertise . You’ll build strong partnerships with farmers, oversee compliance with food safety and sustainability standards, and guide your team to deliver reliable supply chain performance.
While the primary focus is on strengthening supply chain systems and farmer engagement, there may also be opportunities to explore partnerships and international initiatives that further strengthen Vanuatu’s kava industry and contribute to its long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with company goals and sustainability initiatives.
Oversee raw material procurement, focusing on kava sourcing, quality control, and supplier relationships.
Conduct farm visits to assess soil quality, cultivation practices, and compliance with sourcing standards.
Lead farmer engagement through roundtable meetings, promoting best practices and sustainable methods.
Manage warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory management, storage, and dispatch.
Provide leadership to Procurement Field Officers and Warehouse Supervisor.
Collaborate with QA, Finance, HR, and Logistics teams to achieve business targets.
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies across procurement and logistics.
Drive continuous improvement through monitoring, analysis, and process optimisation.
Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, and SQF certification standards.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business, or equivalent experience.
5+ years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, or agricultural sourcing (food or agribusiness preferred).
Knowledge of kava farming practices, soil quality, and agricultural supply chains (highly desirable).
Strong background in supplier engagement, contract management, and risk management.
Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted farmer and supplier partnerships.
Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and rural development initiatives.
