Main Role:
The Business Development Manager will drive sustainable business growth by
expanding Alibaba.com’s local partner ecosystem and strengthening channel sales performance . This role acts as the bridge between Alibaba.com Head Office and local partners, ensuring global sales and marketing strategies are effectively localized and executed. The position focuses on building strong partnerships with government bodies, associations, and ecosystem partners while enabling channel partners through training, joint business activities, and performance management.
Responsibilities:
Execute local partner acquisition and onboarding to expand the Alibaba.com channel network.
Conduct regular outreach, meetings, and follow-ups with partners and prospective clients to drive sales opportunities.
Support and organize local marketing events, workshops, and joint business activities with partners.
Deliver product demos and basic sales training to enable partners to sell effectively.
Track partner sales performance, pipeline progress, and activity metrics; provide regular updates and feedback.
Promote Alibaba.com solutions directly to SMEs and channel partners to generate new business.
Coordinate closely with internal sales and marketing teams to execute campaigns and partner initiatives.
Maintain accurate partner and sales data, reports, and documentation.
Handle day-to-day partner inquiries and provide operational sales support.
Ensure sales activities and contracts follow company policies and standard processes.
Requirements:
3–5 years of experience in B2B or B2C e-commerce companies (e.g., Lazada, Shopee, Tokopedia, or similar platforms) as Business Development, Customer Operation or Channel/ Partner Management.
Strong negotiation, networking, and channel management skills.
Experience organizing and managing marketing events and business activities.
Independent problem-solving ability with a proactive mindset.
Educational background in business, marketing, finance, or related fields from reputable universities in Indonesia or Southeast Asia.
