Job Description

Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering projects and engineering changes, including related administrative tasks and budgeting.

Evaluate and develop new products while improving existing ones.

Analyze, review, and assess electrical circuit designs.

Interpret customer specifications and integrate them into design and procurement documentation.

Communicate with customers and suppliers to coordinate and resolve technical issues.

Provide support to operations and quality teams on manufacturing, customer, and supplier matters; assist in supplier selection.

Prepare process validation and test plans as required.

Participate in root cause analysis and lead investigations of quality‑related issues.

Oversee and enhance supplier quality activities from design through program launch.

Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve issues related to product design, specifications, materials, tooling, and production processes.

Review specifications to ensure supplier information is up‑to‑date, including inspection and testing requirements.

Ensure supplier PPAP submissions meet customer expectations.

Support the establishment and compliance of quality systems across testing, inspection, and other QC areas.

Conduct supplier audits to confirm compliance with product standards and requirements.

Work closely with suppliers to implement productivity improvements and cost‑reduction initiatives.

Evaluate and approve design modifications, specifications, and drawing releases.

Support product and tester validation activities.

Prepare test specifications and conduct testing for product evaluations.

Debug, test, code, and refine systems; address customer issues; provide updated software to resolve bugs; support customer installations; collaborate with customer service teams.

Interpret and understand electrical and electronic schematics.

Set up bench tests involving power‑up procedures and electrical functionality assessments.

The Successful Applicant A successful Application Engineer should have:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.

At least 10 years of experience in the PCBA environment, or a similar engineering role.

Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with IPC standards for printed circuits, assemblies, processes, and inspection/testing.

Familiarity with SMT and back‑end processes, including DFM and DFA principles.

Proficiency in Altium, LabVIEW, AutoCAD, and mechanical drawing interpretation.

IPC A610 and IPC 7711/7721 certifications are an advantage.

Experience in electrical hardware and software development, with solid understanding of electrical and electromechanical components and materials.

Strong background in PCB development and experience with data acquisition tools and circuit simulation.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.

Team‑oriented, adaptable, highly organized, and able to work independently under pressure and within deadlines.

Self‑motivated, responsible, and proactive in daily tasks.

Ability to perform daily activities in alignment with OHS&E practices and applicable standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) as well as Automotive Quality Management Systems (IATF 16949).
