Electrician

Overall Purpose of the Job The Electrician is required to assist in carrying out general maintenance, inspecting, testing and installation of electrical equipment and components to required safe industry standards.

Key Activities And Accountabilities

Ensure the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment and peripherals is carried out safely, effectively, and to required standards.

Determine required equipment and installation method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques.

Observe electrical performance tests to evaluate quality and conformance to specifications.

Analyse technical drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and electrical operations.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate causes of breakdowns and correct problems.

Lay out, position, and install electrical equipment and components according to defined specifications.

Actively adhere to the Code of Conduct, Anti‑Bribery, Quality and HSE policies, procedures, and processes.

Report possible violations or conflicts of interest and participate in quality improvement processes.

Promote HSE awareness and demonstrate personal application of HSE procedures daily; always follow the 10 Safety House Rules.

Ensure objectives set under the Employee Development Plan are met.

Job Knowledge And Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds certificates in BS7671 (requirements) and Inspection & Testing, or equivalent national certification.

1+ years of electrical work experience in a commercial environment, ideally in the oil and gas industry.
