ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Sanggala Corridor Project is a large-scale nature-based carbon initiative in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, implementing forest protection and restoration activities under internationally recognized standards. The project integrates forest conservation and ecosystem restoration, community-based agroforestry, community development and livelihood. We aim to position Sanggala as a high-integrity carbon project that meets international expectations for transparency, storytelling, and impact communication.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Communication Coordinator that translates on-the-ground impact into compelling narratives for international audiences, including investors, rating agencies, carbon buyers, NGOs, and development partners. The ideal candidate is fluent in English, understands sustainability or climate narratives, and is capable of producing high-quality communication materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Communication & Storytelling
Develop and implement the project’s communication strategy.
Translate field activities (community engagement, patrols, rehabilitation, agroforestry, biodiversity monitoring) into compelling stories.
Capture high-quality field content (interviews, photos, short videos, impact quotes).
Position the project in line with international carbon project narratives.
2.International Communications & Publications
Produce a Quarterly Project Newsletter (English) for global stakeholders.
Draft website updates, press releases, and impact briefs.
Develop case studies highlighting biodiversity, social safeguards, and benefit sharing.
Support preparation of materials for carbon buyers and validation bodies.
Deliverables may include; Annual Impact Report, Community Spotlight Series, Biodiversity Story Series, Agroforestry and Forest Restoration Transformation Stories.
3.Stakeholder & Media Engagement
Coordinate communication with Jakarta-based partners and investors.
Support media visits and field documentation trips.
Assist in preparing presentation decks and investor-facing materials.
Ensure consistency of messaging across platforms.
4.Digital & Brand Management
Manage project social media presence (LinkedIn, website updates).
Ensure alignment with international climate communication standards.
Maintain a high-quality visual archive of project activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Environmental Studies, International Relations, or related fields.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in communications, preferably in Climate, sustainability, forestry, conservation, or development sectors
Fluent in English (written and spoken) – mandatory
Strong writing skills for international audiences
Ability to simplify technical content into engaging narratives
Comfortable working in remote forest environments
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience working with nature-based carbon projects
Experience producing newsletters, reports, or sustainability publications
Soft Skill : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, Good analytical thinking and reporting skills, Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, High adaptability and ability to work under challenging field conditions. Strong integrity, initiative, and a proactive approach to work.
Willing to be based at site locations in
Sanggau Regency and Landak Regency, West Kalimantan .
