Costing Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical

Costing Specialist

to monitor, analyze, and report production and inventory costs to support management decision‑making and ensure optimal profit margins.

The role will be responsible for costing reports, cost variance analysis, inventory coordination, and supporting budgeting and pricing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Collect and validate production, maintenance, and inventory data

Prepare product costing and update standard costs

Analyze cost variances (price & quantity variance)

Maintain standard cost of raw materials, machines, and finished goods

Prepare monthly management costing reports

Prepare stock card and costing reports for Business Units

Perform semi-annual stock count and inventory verification

KPI Focus: Timeliness, Accuracy, Compliance

Monitor production cost (including raw materials cost)

Ensure operating costs do not exceed approved budgets

Evaluate cost‑effectiveness of products and projects

Assess project profitability

Coordinate with Sales team to prepare cost estimates and pricing schemes

Develop and maintain costing documentation and performance metrics

Update purchase price in SAP

Generate actual purchase price data when required

Support manual journal coordination with Accounting

Work closely with Production / PPIC regarding production cost and stock count

Coordinate with SCM on inventory movement and stock opname

Communicate with Sales regarding pricing data

Support Accounting in closing and cost reconciliation

Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience

1–3 years of experience in costing / manufacturing finance

Experience in manufacturing (preferably steel industry) is an advantage

Experience in external audit or consulting is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of costing and inventory processes

Good understanding of financial statements and variance analysis

Experience with SAP is preferred

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Excellent communication and coordination skills

Detail‑oriented and well‑organized
