Cold-Formed Steel Design Engineer /Calculation Review Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) Design Engineer based in Indonesia to join our engineering team in Batam. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the analysis and design of cold-formed steel structures, with a primary focus on executing and reviewing complex design calculations to ensure structural integrity, efficiency, and full compliance with both local and international standards. Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed structural design calculations for various cold-formed steel components and systems (e.g., wall studs, floor joists, roof trusses, purlins, girts, bracing).

Review and verify structural calculations prepared by internal teams or external consultants, ensuring accuracy, project-specific compliance, and alignment with applicable codes and standards.

Conduct advanced structural analysis using specialized software to optimize CFS designs for strength, serviceability, and cost efficiency.

Prepare comprehensive calculation reports and technical documentation to support design decisions and regulatory submissions.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, and multidisciplinary engineers to integrate CFS structural designs effectively within overall project plans.

Provide expert technical guidance and support throughout design, fabrication, and construction phases.

Stay up to date with the latest industry standards, software developments, and best practices in cold-formed steel design.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 6 years of experience (adjustable) specifically in cold-formed steel structural design and calculation review.

Proven expertise in performing and reviewing complex structural calculations for CFS.

Advanced user of structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RISA-3D, FrameCAD, etc).

Strong knowledge of relevant international and local codes and standards (e.g., AISI S100, SNI, Eurocode 3 Part 1-3 – adjust as required).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Professional proficiency in English is highly preferred.
