Mine Plan Engineering

Responsible for the preparation, analysis, and evaluation of short- to medium-term mine planning to support the achievement of nickel production targets in a safe, efficient manner and in accordance with Good Mining Practice principles.

Key Responsibilities

Mining Planning

Develop daily, weekly, and monthly mining plans (short-term plans).

Design pits, ramps, haul roads, disposal areas, and mining sequences.

Update designs based on actual field conditions.

Reconcile ore and waste.

Analyse deviations between plan and actual and provide recommendations for improvement.

Technical Analysis

Calculate stripping ratio, recovery, dilution, and mine progress.

Evaluate designs for optimisation of equipment and fleet.

Support technical studies for operational cost efficiency.

Operational Coordination

Coordinate with the Operations, Survey, and Geology teams.

Provide daily technical support related to the implementation of mining plans.

Support smooth communication between planning and operations.

Reporting

Compile daily and monthly mining planning reports.

Create technical presentations for internal needs.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure designs comply with safety standards and regulations.

Integrate safety aspects into mine planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.

Minimum 3–6 years of experience in nickel mining (open pit).

Proficient in mining software: Surpac / Minescape / Vulcan / Datamine.

Understanding of laterite nickel deposit characteristics (limonite & saprolite).

Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

Able to work on site with a roster system.
