Volunteer Opportunity by Aksaraya Community | Writing, Language, and Inclusive Literacy (Hybrid, Bali) We are excited to announce that Aksaraya is opening volunteer opportunities for individuals passionate about writing, literacy, language, and community development.

Aksaraya Community is an inclusive writing and literacy education community dedicated to nurturing critical thinking, creative expression, and language appreciation. We believe that a strong literacy ecosystem must be inclusive, collaborative, and sustainable, giving everyone equal opportunities to learn, express themselves, and contribute through writing.

About Aksaraya Inspired by the spirit of Indonesia’s 1928 Youth Pledge, Aksaraya continues the mission of making language and writing a bridge for understanding and collective awareness. Our commitment aligns with:

Through writing programs, community discussions, publication initiatives, and cross-sector collaborations, we aim to strengthen Indonesia’s literacy ecosystem.

Volunteer Positions (2026 Cohort) We are looking for individuals to support one of the following pillars:

Partnership & Community Relations

Creative & Media Publication

Program & Business Development

Legal & Community Administration

Finance, Treasury & Logistics

Commitment: 1 year

What You Will Gain

Skill development in communication, management, creative work, and organizational practice

Opportunities to publish creative or editorial work through Aksaraya’s official channels

Qualifications / Requirements Aksaraya welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds. There is no age limit and no prior experience is required. We value individuals who embody the following:

Core Requirements

A genuine passion for literacy, writing, and community empowerment

A willingness to learn, grow, and collaborate within a team

Active, responsible, and committed to the 1-year volunteer journey

Open-minded, inclusive, and respectful toward diverse perspectives

Able to communicate clearly and show initiative in community activities

Preferred (but not required)

Background or interest related to the pillar you apply for

Experience in writing, content creation, facilitation, administration, or project coordination

Basic understanding of digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva, or similar tools)

Availability to join hybrid meetings and occasional on-ground activities in Bali

Most importantly, we are looking for individuals with the enthusiasm to help build a stronger, more inclusive literacy ecosystem.
