Aurex Group is collaborating with a leading global commodities trading house in the expansion of its Minor Metals platform. As part of this strategic growth initiative, the firm is hiring multiple traders across varying experience levels.
Role Overview:
The Battery Materials / Minor Metals Trader will be responsible for originating, structuring, and executing physical transactions across a range of battery materials and specialty metals markets globally.
The role combines physical trading, market development, and commercial structuring within fragmented, relationship-driven markets. Successful candidates will contribute to building and scaling the firm’s presence across key global supply chains.
Openings exist at multiple seniority levels, with scope and responsibility aligned to experience and commercial track record.
Key Responsibilities:
Trading & Market Development
Execute physical transactions across battery materials and minor metals including lithium products, cobalt, nickel intermediates, manganese, graphite, uranium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, antimony, gallium, indium, and related specialty materials
Develop and manage relationships with miners, refiners, processors, recyclers, alloy producers, cathode/anode manufacturers, OEMs, and industrial end-users
Identify arbitrage and margin opportunities across geographies, grades, conversion spreads, and regional supply/demand imbalances
Structure term supply agreements, offtakes, tolling arrangements, and strategic sourcing partnerships
Build and manage a trading book in line with the firm’s capital allocation and risk parameters
For senior-level hires: drive desk strategy, expand market footprint, and mentor junior traders
Qualifications & Experience:
We are considering candidates across a range of experience levels.
Experience in physical commodities trading, metals, mining, recycling, or specialty materials markets
Exposure to battery materials and/or minor metals strongly preferred
Experience in adjacent non-ferrous or specialty markets will be considered
Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to originate and execute transactions
Strong understanding of global physical trade flows and supply chain dynamics
