Mechanical Design Engineer - Japanese Manufacturing Client Details:

Main Responsibilities:

Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPM) in accordance with customer requirements and project specifications.

Develop detailed 2D and 3D models, part drawings, assembly drawings, and complete Bills of Materials (BOM) using SolidWorks and GstarCAD.

Perform engineering calculations including mechanical strength analysis, material selection, tolerance stack‑up analysis, and basic kinematic studies.

Ensure designs are manufacturable and assembly‑ready by collaborating closely with Production, Electrical, and Project teams.

Conduct design reviews and implement improvements based on internal validation, testing results, and customer feedback.

Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, production drawings, operation manuals, tolerance details, surface finishes, welding symbols, and machining notes.

Provide technical support during machine installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites as required.

Ensure all designs comply with applicable machine safety standards and engineering best practices.

Manage design revisions and maintain accurate documentation control throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, preferably within the Special Purpose Machine (SPM), automation systems, or machine manufacturing industry.

Proficient in SolidWorks (3D/2D modeling) and GstarCAD or equivalent CAD software.

Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, machine mechanisms, materials engineering, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

Solid knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes.

Proven ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings and assembly‑ready technical documentation.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.

Good communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.

Willing to travel to customer sites for installation, inspection, or troubleshooting when required.

Able to adapt to project changes and work effectively under tight deadlines.

Willing to be placed in Cikarang area.
