Purpose of the Position
The International Student Recruitment Officer will play a key role in expanding SCEI and SCEI-HE’s global presence by recruiting international students for our graduate and postgraduate programs. This role focuses on contacting, nurturing, and converting international leads into enrolled students, with a strong emphasis on attending education fairs and marketing events worldwide. The ideal candidate will be multilingual, passionate about VET and higher education, and adept at building relationships across cultures to drive enrolment growth.
Key Responsibilities
**Lead Generation & Conversion**:
- Reach out to prospective international students through inbound and outbound channels (phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person events) to promote SCEI and SCEI-HE’s academic programs.
- Qualify leads by assessing their academic background, career goals, English proficiency, visa eligibility, and program fit.
- Drive enrolment through consistent follow-ups, addressing cultural and language barriers, and resolving concerns related to studying in Australia.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified international leads, achieving daily, weekly, and monthly enrolment targets.
**International Marketing & Education Fairs**:
- Represent SCEI and SCEI-HE at international education fairs, expos, and recruitment events to attract prospective students and build partnerships with education agents.
- Travel globally to key markets (e.g. China, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia) to conduct marketing campaigns, deliver presentations, and engage with students, parents, and agents.
- Develop and distribute marketing materials in multiple languages, tailored to specific regions and cultural contexts.
**Relationship Management**:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with international students, parents, education agents, and academic counselors, ensuring culturally sensitive communication.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the enrollment process, assisting with visa applications, English language requirements, and cultural adjustment advice.
- Guide students through the application process, including documentation, deadlines, and FEE-HELP eligibility for eligible students.
**Consultative Sales Approach**:
- Engage in consultative conversations to understand the unique needs of international students and guide them through their educational journey in Australia.
- Provide detailed information on programs, admissions requirements, financial aid (e.g., FEE-HELP), cultural integration, and career opportunities post-graduation.
- Highlight SCEI and SCEI-HE’s unique value proposition, including TEQSA and ACQA accreditation, industry-aligned programs, and support for international students.
**CRM Management & Reporting**:
- Use CRM software to track interactions with international students and agents, ensuring accurate records and timely follow-ups.
- Document student preferences, cultural considerations, and objections to refine recruitment strategies and improve conversion rates.
- Report regularly on lead generation, conversion metrics, and event outcomes to management, providing insights on regional trends.
**Collaboration with Other Departments**:
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted international campaigns, leveraging platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, as used in SCEI and SCEI-HE’s current strategy.
- Collaborate with admissions, student services, and international support teams to ensure a seamless transition from inquiry to enrollment, including visa and accommodation support.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Attributes
**Essential**:
- Minimum of 2 years of sales or recruitment experience, preferably in international student recruitment, higher education, or a related field.
- Multilingual proficiency (fluency in Bahasa and English).
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for marketing purposes and education fairs (valid passport and flexibility for frequent travel).
- Strong communication and intercultural skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, managing time across different time zones.
- Excellent phone etiquette, email writing skills, and presentation skills for education fairs.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management to handle multiple markets.
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in sales, marketing, international relations, or a related field.
**Desirable**:
- Enthusiastic about higher education and supporting international student success.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a passion for meeting recruitment targets.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting tools (e.g., Zoom).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with global travel demands.
- Exposure to private higher education and/or RTO environments.
- Established networks with international education agents, particularly in key markets like Philippines, China, Malaysia, Indonesia.
