Senior Metallurgical Engineer (Chemical Engineer)
Job Description Key Responsibilities
Design and optimize metallurgical systems for metallic mineral processing.
Apply principles of physical and chemical metallurgy to separation, extraction, and refining processes.
Lead feasibility studies, lab‑scale testing, and pilot plant operations for strategic minerals including rare earths.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (geology, legal, environmental, investment) to ensure project success.
Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and SOPs aligned with national and international standards.
Provide technical supervision and mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians.
Contribute to innovation and sustainability in metallurgical process development.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from a reputable university.
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in metallurgical engineering, mineral processing, or rare earth projects.
Experience in large‑scale or nationally strategic projects is highly valued.

Domain – Expertise
Metallurgical Science:
Thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, diffusion, corrosion, material characterization
Mineral Processing:
Flotation, leaching, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, solvent extraction
Rare Earth Elements:
Separation, purification, and strategic applications of REEs
Modeling & Simulation:
MATLAB, Python, COMSOL, ANSYS, or equivalent tools
Quality & Safety:
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HSE compliance, risk analysis
Language:
Fluent in English (technical and professional proficiency)
Soft Skills & Attributes
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
Analytical thinking and data‑driven problem solving
Excellent cross‑disciplinary and cross‑cultural communication
Adaptability to new technologies and field challenges
High integrity and commitment to sustainability
Ideal Candidate Profile
Graduate of Metallurgical Engineering from top institutions (Indonesia, Australia, Germany, Japan, etc.)
Proven experience in mining, metallurgy, or strategic materials research
Prior involvement in rare earth or critical mineral projects is a major advantage
Willingness to relocate or work on‑site at strategic project locations
