Dept. Head Operation Control (OCC) & Technology

The role involves overseeing water traffic control operations, focusing on real-time tracking, productivity, cost management, safety, and reporting.

The incumbent will be assigned to

PT Pelabuhan Buana Reja (PBR) ,

a Port Business Entity company

and a subsidiary of PT ABM Investama.

Responsibilities

Water Traffic Control Operation

Live Tracking: Real-time tracking of barges, tugboats, and stevedoring equipment to ensure smooth movement and real-time visibility of operations.

The Link: Coordinating Hub between stockpile, jetty, barges, and floating crane.

Syncing: Monitoring loading/unloading progress against schedules. Making sure the stockpile is ready when the barge arrives at the jetty.

Productivity and Efficiency

Supporting management decisions with predictive analytics.

Loading Rates: Measuring how many tons are moved per hour.

Turnaround Time: Measures the efficiency of the full barging cycle from loading, sailing, unloading, return, until ready for the next operation, compared to standard cycle time.

Cycle Time: Measuring the full trip (loading → sailing → unloading → returning).

Fixing Delays: Finding "bottlenecks" (slow points) and fixing them immediately.

Cost and Resource Management

Measures the effectiveness of managing vessel operations from arrival to departure by comparing actual turnaround time with the predefined target.

Fuel Control: Measures fuel cost efficiency by comparing total fuel expenses against total metric tons transported.

Demurrage Avoidance: Avoiding expensive "late fees" caused by delays.

Utilization: Making sure fleet and equipment are constantly utilized, not idling or standby.

Budgeting: Ensuring compliance with budgeted operational costs.

Safety and Weather Rules

Weather Watch: Monitoring weather and tidal conditions to mitigate risk and incidents.

Safety Standards: Enforcing cargo handling rules and tracking "near misses."

Compliance: Ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

Reporting and Analytics

Generating daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

Creating Operational Dashboards for Monitoring fuel consumption for tugboats & barges.

Performance Reports: Creating daily and monthly summaries of Key Operational Parameters Loading Rate (MT/Hour), Barging Cycle Time, Vessel Turnaround time, Demurrage avoidance.

Predictive Planning: Using Ops Data to identify bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.

Qualifications

English and communication skills,

Have good presentation, problem solving and decision making skills

Candidates with an Industrial Engineering background are preferred

Specific with some knowledge for Shipping business.
