Senior Software Engineer Trading Systems & Real-Time Monitoring Fully Remote | Europe / UK

We are supporting a well-funded energy technology company building large-scale, real-time systems that operate at the intersection of

software, data, and critical infrastructure . This role sits within a senior engineering team responsible for

automated trading systems and operational monitoring platforms

used in live, production environments.

What You’ll Be Working On Building

automated trading and decisioning systems

for real-time markets Developing

monitoring, alerting, and analytics tools

for large-scale operational systems Designing and operating

distributed services and APIs Working with

high-throughput data pipelines

and time-series data Owning features end-to-end, from design through production

Core Technology Environment Python

(primary language, strong fundamentals required) Distributed systems & microservices Kafka or similar streaming platforms PostgreSQL / time-series databases Docker and modern CI/CD workflows Strong testing, observability, and code-quality practices

What We’re Looking For Senior-level software engineer with

strong engineering fundamentals Experience building

production systems , not just prototypes Comfortable working in

remote, async teams Clear communicator who prioritises

quality over rushing deadlines Strong sense of ownership and accountability

Important – AI-Assisted Development This team actively uses

agentic AI coding systems

in day-to-day development. We are specifically interested in engineers who have

hands-on experience

with tools such as: Cursor Claude Code Codex or similar agent-based coding systems

This is

not

a Copilot-only or ChatGPT-prompt role. You should be comfortable using AI tools that execute multi-step workflows, modify files, and run code as part of real development.

Nice to Have (Not Required) Rust experience Exposure to trading systems, optimisation, or real-time decisioning Interest in systems that interact with real-world infrastructure
