Are you our next Bookkeeper?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of
AUSTRALIAN TAXATION and accounting principles , along with excellent English and organizational skills. This role offers the opportunity to progress to Team Leader of a small remote team.
Experience working with Australian clients and Australian taxation is REQUIRED.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Records:
Maintain accurate day-to-day financial records of our Australian clients, including AP/AR, payroll (multiple employees), invoicing, commissions, daily journal / financial entries, and general ledger maintenance using Xero.
Reconciliations & Reporting:
Perform regular bank, credit card, loan, superannuation, and balance sheet reconciliations; prepare monthly financial reports including P&L and balance sheets.
Tax & Compliance:
Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, PAYG, PAYGW, PAYG instalments, and assist with tax compliance in line with Australian regulations (TPAR and Work Cover highly regarded).
Audit & Management Support:
Provide documentation for internal and external audits and respond to management and client financial queries.
Client & Team Engagement:
Build strong client relationships, educate clients, collaborate with team members, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of client work, maintain good communication with client in meeting and emails.
Process Improvement & Professional Standards:
Follow checklists and training materials while contributing to process improvements and recommending systems to support clients’ business growth.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. Ideally would have worked for several years at a BPO or outsourced provider of bookkeeping staff to
Australian clients
and experienced with
Australian taxation .
Strong understanding of the use of
Xero accounting software
for bank reconciliations, financial reporting (profit and loss, balance sheet), payroll processing and superannuation, and preparing tax reports to the Australian Taxation Office. Having Xero Certificate is preferable.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
to effectively collaborate with our multinational team and Australian clients is highly advantageous.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or Cert IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping (current), and or Cert III in Business Administration.
Proficient in using Microsoft Excel to support your bookkeeping work.
Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational ability, and able to manage multiple tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong drive to exceed expectations and progress career.
